Announcing a New Artist for Studio Mares – David Gallegos
David M. Gallegos creates tapestry rugs that mirror traditional Hispanic designs with an eye for moving the form into a new contemporary direction. A third generation weaver from the small village of Questa, situated in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of Northern New Mexico, David started weaving in 2002 under the direction of his mother, Eva Rael Gallegos who learned from her mother, Estrella Quintana Rael. He currently lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
